Doctors are attempting to improve the life expectancy of mesothelioma patients through a variety of clinical trials. The National Cancer Institute reports over 55 clinical trials in various stages which are of interest to mesothelioma patients. Some trials are for new medications, and others explore different ways of using radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery.
